The Rye Ranch Community Development District is a local, special-purpose government entity authorized by Chapter 190 of the Florida Statutes as amended, and established on February 08, 2022 by the Board of County Commissioners of Manatee County, Florida Ordinance No. 22-12, as an alternative method of planning, acquiring, operating and maintaining community-wide improvements in planned communities.
The District will serve the Rye Ranch development (the "Development"), a master planned, development located in unincorporated Manatee County, Florida. The land within the District currently consists of approximately 1,368.60 acres and is generally located south and west of CR 675, east of North Rye Road and north of Upper Manatee River Road. Specifically, the District shall have the power to plan, establish. acquire. construct or reconstruct. enlarge or extend. equip, operate and maintain additional systems and facilities.
A Community Development District (CDD) provides the 'solution' to Florida's need to provide valuable community infrastructure generated by growth, ultimately without overburdening other governments and their taxpaying residents. CDDs represent a major advancement in Florida's effort to manage its growth effectively and efficiently. This allows a community to establish higher construction standards, meanwhile providing a long-term solution to the operation and maintenance of the community's facilities.
